List of Foods Dogs Should not Eat

  • Alcoholic beverages, not for dogs regardless if they like the taste of beer. hops is very bad for dogs.

  • baby food, has other ingredients that are toxic to dogs such as onion powder.

  • Left over fish and poultry bones can splinter and become stuck or cut internal parts of your dog.

  • Caffeine containing products such as chocolate, coffee and teas can affect the heart and nervous system.

  • Concentrated citrus products, can cause your dog to vomit.

  • Hops can cause a bunch of problems ultimately leading to death.

  • Grapes and raisins can affect the kidneys.

  • Macadamia nuts can affect the digestive, nervous systems and muscles.

  • Nutmeg can cause tremors and seizures

  • Dairy products can cause diarrhea associated with lactose digestion for many pets.

  • Mushrooms can cause shock and death.

  • Onions and garlic can reduce red blood cells causing anemia

  • Large seeds or pits can easily be swallowed and cause obstruction in the digestive tract.

  • Some types of raw fish can cause appetite loss and seizures.

  • High sugared foods or candies can lead to diabetes.

  • Tomatoes and tomato plants can cause tremors and heart arrhythmia's.

 

 

Avoid these foods when ever possible. In most cases accidental small amounts will not cause severe complications but in any instance where a dog ingests something they should not, consult with your veterinarian. This list is the most common foods dogs should not eat. Other food items out there may harm your dog specifically. So always speak with your veterinarian before feeding your dog foreign foods outside of there normal diet.
